2017 Spring Concert

On Saturday evening, May 13th, at 7:00 PM, the Voices of Flower Mound will present “Isn’t it Romantic”, a concert of selections you and mom will love –  pop music by songwriters whose songs have remained popular over the years. Several Gershwin selections, including ”Summertime”, from the musical Porgy and Bess, along with selections from other musicals –“Over the Rainbow” from Wizard of Oz,  “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Disney’s Toy Story and “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  Other tunes date as far back as the 1930s by artists such as Hoagy Carmichael, Henry Mancini, and Elvis Presley.

The May 13th concert will take place at the Flower Mound Community Church, located on the south side of the intersection of Cross Timbers Rd. (FM 1171) and Glenwick Blvd. The address is 3415 Cross Timbers Rd, Flower Mound.

Advance tickets, priced at $12 for adults and $8 for seniors and students, may be purchased online by credit card or PayPal, available on the VFM website, voicesofflowermound.com. Ticket prices at the door are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Group and family prices are available on request by contacting Ron Miller @ 972-899-2238.

The Voices of Flower Mound, a community chorus, was founded 11 years ago, and is directed by Dr. Arturo Ortega and accompanied by Dr. Migeun Chung. In addition to their own concerts, VFM performs with the Flower Mound Symphony Orchestra and the Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church chancel choir in both annual patriotic concerts and Christmas concerts. The chorus has also participated in performances of Mozart’s Requiem Mass and Handel’s Messiah. In another annual event, the VFM joins forces with musicians from several area Churches and community choruses in “Rejoice”, a musical fundraiser for CCA.

The Voices of Flower Mound always welcomes new members. Visiting the chorus’s website – voicesofflowermound.com – will provide you with more information about the VFM.
